WINDSOR LOCKS

This week in Windsor Locks we will be focusing on each actor's individual talents, playing games and helping beginners explore the world of the theatre arts. We have a lot of new talent, so our primary goal will be on getting kids to open up, play, and put together scenes, monologues, and a dance. A lot of our kids said that they would like to get over their stage fright, and we aim to help them do that!

HAMDEN

Tuesday we got to know each other and started learning dancing and scripts! We also played some awesome theatre and improv games and learned about the stage. Wednesday we learned more of our dances and cast our scenes for Friday! We are having so much fun!!

STAMFORD

Monday
- Today was a day dedicated to learning and exploring our own levels of theatrical talents. After breaking up the kids into groups, we explored short improvisational skits to get "loose" and acclimated to the program. We also explored monologues and "motivation" behind the words on the page.

Tuesday - Today we assigned specific roles for each skit. We also blocked each scene as well as determined costumes and props for Friday's performance. With the little kids, we explored facial expressions such as Happy, Sad, Excited, Angry and Pensive.

Wednesday - Today will be dedicated to learning our lines and blocking, as well as getting more comfortable with the skits. We will play more improvisational games as well since the kids seem to really enjoy that.

Thursday - Today we will try and have our lines and blocking completely memorized. We will dedicated most of the day to rehearsals and I also plan on running through some auditioning techniques with the older kids since they seem to keep asking me for advice on the subject.

Friday - Today will be a fun day - we will loosen up with a group improvisational game as well as some fun games involving music and dancing - We will rehearse each of our skits 2-3 times before the performance, and then perform for our families and friends!

I think it is a week she will always remember. WE have been attending these camps now for about 5 years with my older daughter first and now with Samantha .The value is great, price wise, and the value experience wise is wonderful . Thank you Frank and Hillary for giving my Daughter Samantha a wonderful experience. She is still talking about it!!! – Windsor Locks parent

We just got home from the completion of the Performing arts summer camp program. Just so you know, my daughter enjoyed it so much I just finished signing her up for the fall acting classes! You all  did a wonderful job and we were really impressed with the kids performance today! Hats off to you!
Karen N, Bethel

I just have to let you know that my daughter is learning so much and loves your camp. She has been spending the week in Southington with her auntie and attending camp so she is experiencing two emotions and when ever we talk she has so much excitement in her voice...thank you. I miss her so much so I am glad she is happy. I can't wait to see what they have for us tomorrow.
– Southington parent

My daughter said that this was her favorite camp ever. She had a terrific time and she was so proud of herself. Your team does a great job of making the kids feel really good about themselves! Thanks so much for a fun week! – Brookfield parent

My daughter loved the program. We couldn't believe how much they learned in one week. The end of the week production was GREAT! Thanks again, wish it was a 2 week program! Or more! Portland parent

I have 2 girls there. They both love it and said that they want to go back next year! The instructors are great with them.
Tracy Y

lt has been very helpful for her to gain knowledge of stage presence and voice projection. It has given her a better understanding of how many pieces there is to the theatre production puzzle. I think that she is even more hooked on performing! The instructors seem to be very involved with each of the skits and exercises that the kids are learning. The program itself appears to be quite organized and the lessons are focused on the specific objectives of the summer camp program. She is having a great time with this program, and although she has not mentioned one specific instructor, I have to give credit to them all for doing a fantastic job! The job they do reflects upon the program as a whole!  Great job everyone! I know that my daughter would love to continue with your program to perfect the skills that she has currently.
Hamden Parent

If the camp was offered for a second we, I would sign my daughter up. She has participated in many camp types, and this is her favorite!
